8199 Recordings

Major label mindset with an indie label approach. The more you learn about the music business, the more you realize that it is definitely less about the music than it is the business - at least from the label/industry side. We believe that indie artists, and signed artists alike, should have a proper understanding of the industry, and their relationship to it. What's important to us? Owning our publishing and masters (recordings), artists being able to make a living with music and continuing to embark on other creative opportunities in this new age of the music industry. Thus, 8199 Recordings.

8199 Music Group

8199 Music Group is the publishing hub of 8199 Entertainment and is registered with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, www.ascap.com).

The first project published under the brand is the Billboard-charting debut LP The Firebird Album by Boss Eagle, which was released on November 17th, 2017. The album is available for download and streaming via SpotifyiTunes/Apple Music, CdBabyGoogle Play and more.

Two tracks from Boss Eagle's debut record, The Firebird Album, land in a
feature film!

The "ode-to-the-80s" comedy feature film, A High School Story, written and directed by Nathan Blair (A Perfect Chord, 2nd Greatest), nabbed not one, but two, of Boss Eagle's tracks for the movie - the hard-hitting-yet-inspirational track "Ivan Drago" and the Hip-Hop-meets-Motown jam, "Baby." This is a honor for Boss Eagle and we at 8199 Recordings/8199 Entertainment are truly grateful to have a musical "role" in the film (pun intended)!

Boss Eagle scores another film placement with the anthemic "We Got It Too" from The Firebird Album

"We Got It Too," from the Billboard-charting debut The Firebird Album, finds its way into the suspense/thriller, SCION (Nerve Pictures). Boss Eagle (real name, Jamaal Curry) also plays the role of businessman/rave promoter, Tony Dax, in the flick. SCION is set to release April 2018.
